Shower of tears
In a busy market place, the employee of a silk cloth house is engaged in making Dua and is asking Allah (az'zawajal) for a place in Heaven. Hearing this, the shop owner is overwhelmed with affection and cries so much that his ear glands and shoulders started to shake and shiver. The owner then immediately orders for the shop to be closed and wraps a cloth around his head and stands up and says, “What a shame that we have become so fearless of Allah (az'zawajal) that only one person out of us all is asking for Heaven on his own accord from Allah (az'zawajal) (one must be very brave to ask a question like this). Rather sinful people like us should be asking for forgiveness from Allah (az'zawajal) for our sins.” This shop owner was so engrossed with the fear of Allah (az'zawajal) that when he would stand in prayer at night, he would cry so much that the drops falling from the shower of tears could be heard clearly falling on the prayer mat. In the night he would cry so much in his worship that his neighbours would show pity towards him.
