Hidden Treasure
Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Musa (alay his’salaam) and Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Khizar (alay his’salaam) have a famous Qur’aanic story, which begins in the 15th Para and finishes in the 17th. In this, Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Musa Kaleemullah (alay his’salaam) and Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Khizar (alay his’salaam) went to a city. The residents of the city did not look after these guests, nor did they present any food. Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Khizar (alay his’salaam) saw a wall which was about to fall, and began to repair it. For such people who did not even ask them if they wanted a drink of water, free work was being done to repair their wall. Therefore, Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Musa (alay his’salaam) said to Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Khizar (alay his’salaam) “If you wanted, you could have asked for some money for repairing the wall.” Hazrat’e Sayyiduna Khizar (alay his’salaam) said, “this is the wall of two orphans who are the children of a good man and under this wall, is his treasure. If the wall fell, then the treasure would have been revealed, and the people would have taken it. Therefore, Allah (az’zawajal) wanted that the orphans grow up, and take out the treasure for themselves. Through the blessings of their father, mercy was shown to them.” The commentators of the Qur’an (rahima hu’mullah) have said that the orphans were from the eighth generation of the person to whom the treasure belonged to.
